PlastCat™
Eco-transformation of plastic waste into valuable products
Our statement
Plastic is a valuable resource that will impact a worldwide circular economy
Great challenge
of humanity
The United Nations Environment Programme estimates that of the 7 billion tons of plastic waste generated globally so far, less than 10 per cent has been recycled. Plastic production is growing every year and will double within 20 years. Plastic pollution has become biologically dangerous. It has to be stopped.
Stop losing
money
The environmental costs to the global economy associated with all stages of the plastic life cycle are often underestimated. Losses from damage to the aquatic ecosystem alone are estimated at $13 billion annually.
Upgrade ineffective methods
Recycling plastic prolongs its life cycle, but not more than 10% of plastic waste is returned to the market. Only a part of plastic waste can be recycled using standard mechanical methods due to its heavy contamination. Modern technologies, theoretically able to cope with the task of recycling contaminated plastic, have no economic value.
Why PlastCat?
PlastCat is the technology that allows to receive high-quality liquid fuel from plastic waste unsuitable for processing by other methods using combined filtration methods and low temperature catalytic cracking process. A cost-effective process does not generate additional pollution. On the contrary, recycling dirty plastic reduces the emission of carbon dioxide by 276% of its mass.
Human to human PlastCat project
Modernization of existing and creation of new waste recycling plants
The innovative PlastCat technology opens up completely new possibilities for recycling plastic waste. By developing existing processing plants and creating new ones, we will achieve an increase in the conversion rate together. With the PlastСat project group, you will bring your processing complexes to a new technological level.
We will design and help you produce the necessary equipment. We will implement and start-up the technology, train the staff. We will achieve economic success together.
PlastCat high-quality products
Liquid, transport–friendly PlastCat products are in demand as raw materials for the production of various petrochemical products - fuels, solvents, plastics…
The absence or extremely low level of undesirable impurities makes these products competitive in the market.
Additional business monetization
PlastCat into waste recycling implementation business creates a high positive potential for participation in the environmental securities market. The precisely measured mass of greenhouse gases that have been prevented from being released into the atmosphere is becoming increasingly valuable.
Why aren't traditional plastic recycling
methods all we need?
  • Plastic burning leads to excessive greenhouse gas emissions
  • Pyrolysis products require expensive refinement
  • Mechanical recycling applicable only to a part of plastic waste
  • A landfill is a time bomb

PREPARATION LINE
Polymer waste is delivered to the warehouse by truck and weighed with radiation control. Waste unsuitable for recycling is cleaned of non-polymeric impurities and large metals, then stored partially compacted. After shredding and magnetic separation, the material is dried using hot air to <3% moisture, then sent to mixing reactors to melt in a hydrocarbon and polymer mixture. The mixing reactor is heated by a heat transfer fluid that is heated in a fired heater.

CRACKING REACTOR
As a result of catalytic cracking, a gaseous mixture of hydrocarbons is formed. The mixture is cooled in a heat exchanger and then passes through an air-cooling system into a separator. The heat exchanger is cooled using a heat transfer fluid. Cooling occurs in the air-cooling system.

RECTIFIER
Result of cooling in the air-cooling systems and in the separators, the hydrocarbon fraction is divided into a stable gaseous mixture of hydrocarbons and three liquid fractions. Some of the heavy fractions are returned to the technological process, while the rest is mixed with the light fractions to produce final products.

HEATING FURNANCES
The gaseous mixture from the separator is supplied to the gas compression station
and then to the gas holders for storage.
FILTER
From the gas holders, the mixture is fed into the burners of the fired heaters.

MIXER
On the way to the furnace, a catalyst emulsion from an emulsifier is added to the melt.

WATER SEPARATOR
The residual water, along with the light fractions and contaminants, is separated.
The remaining light fractions are then fed back into the reactor, while the hazardous contaminants and water are discharged from the cycle.

PLASTCAT PRODUCTS
Liquid separation products are stored in tanks. The final products are shipped
to customers from the loading terminal. The products are transported by specialized truck transport in tankers. Each shipment is measured (volume and temperature).

DCS (DIGITAL CONTROL SYSTEMS)
The operation of the plant's technological systems and safety systems is monitored from the dispatcher’s office, equipped with automated control, communication, and video surveillance systems - APCS and АСS. The main power supply is provided from the medium voltage network through a transformer substation, while the backup is supplied by electric generators.
FILTER
The melt is transferred through a filter pump and heat exchangers to the evaporator reactor and then sent from the evaporator reactor through the fired heater. Filter waste (hazard class IV) is placed in a landfill.
